Cable clutch pedal.
The pedal end of the cable fits between a toothed quadrant and pawl located at the top of the pedal.
Cables can also loosen or stretch from use so that the clutch doesn t fully release when the pedal is pushed all the way in.
The cable connects the clutch pedal pivot directly to the release fork eliminating practically all of the wear points that are found in shaft and lever linkages.
Many fords such as the fiesta cortina mk5 and escort mk3 have a self adjusting clutch cable.
To release the cable first disconnect it at the clutch housing end.
The clearance is the difference between the cable measurement when the operating lever is at rest and when it is pushed inwards.
